Progress

Among many, many other things we're renovating the kitchen and removing a wall between the kitchen and dining room. Here's what it looked like yesterday:

There was a lot of tile on the wall, all of which was held in place by 3-4" of concrete.  (Note the buckling door in the last photo: that's a result of the moisture from the moldy basement.  Yuck.)

Today the wall between the two rooms came down and we can now see the new view.

Tomorrow may be a rainy day, which may mean that the crew begins demo on the basement.  Basically, the entire basement has to be thrown away in the dumpster.  I have spent very little time in the basement, mainly because it is a scary, scary place.  

How scary, you ask?

Fortunately, I have these great rose colored glasses and am way too excited about the rest of the house to notice reality.
